Thelma C. Bowman

Thelma C. Bowman, 85, of Windsor, died 1:33 p.m. Sunday (February 10, 2013) in the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center, Mattoon.

Celebration of Life services will be noon Thursday in the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan with the Rev. Charliam Renner officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials are suggested to the Lincolnland Home Health Care. Online condolences may be sent to the family at reedfuneralhome.net.

Thelma was born March 14, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Edwin C. and Lera Ona Fread Poisel. Thelma had been a beautician in Decatur and then was a machinist for Marvel- Schebler, Decatur. She had been a member of the Lovington United Methodist Church and the Decatur Power Squadron. She married C. Dale Bowman on January 13, 1973 in Decatur and he survives at Windsor.

Also surviving are her children, Amy Myers of Decatur, Vickie Mally of Decatur, Patti Sloatman of East Peoria, Jerry (Dana) Diller of Decatur, Matt Diller of Danville; stepsons, Dick Bowman of Boody and David Bowman of Decatur; sister, Shirley Starr of Roseville, California; grandchildren, Bryan (Sheila) Myers of Shelbyville, Ryan Myers of Decatur, Bret (Julia) Myers of Effingham, Dannell (Kevin) Loseke of Bloomington, Sean Diller and partner Damon Priddy of Springfield; eight great grandchildren; niece, Sandy (Bob) Casey of Poway, California; nephew, Jim (Diana) Starr of Roseville, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, LeeAnne Martinie; step daughter, Dana Brewer; granddaughter, Charity Mally; great grandson, Nathaniel Mally and brother-in-law, Richard Starr.
