Anita F. Wiley, 73, of Bethany, died 3:02 p.m. Wednesday (January 23, 2013) in St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur.
Celebration of Life services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan. Burial will be in the Marrowbone Twp. Cemetery, Bethany. Firefighter rites will be accorded by the Okaw Firefighters Honor Guard. Visitation will be 4 - 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Wiley was born August 27, 1939 in Sullivan, Illinois, the daughter of Alven Earl and Anna Marie Thomas Lillico. Anita was a professional furniture upholsterer. Anita was a former EMT-I/D and the first female firefighter in Moultrie County and served on the Bethany Fire Department for 37 years. She was a founding member of the Bethany Ambulance Service, past ambulance administrator, and past trustee for the Bethany Fire and Ambulance District. Anita was a board member for the inception and implementation of the Moultrie County Dive Team. Anita married William ‘Bill’ Wiley on December 23, 1956 in Bement, Illinois and he survives at Bethany.
Also surviving are her sister, Linda Wiley of Bethany and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Garnet Lillico, and sister, Evelyn Neathery.
