Doris L. McElravy, 95, of Sullivan, died 7:20 a.m. Monday (August 6, 2012) in Mason Point, Sullivan.
Celebration of Life services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan with Pastor Fred Hauck officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials are suggested to the Sullivan Church of God. Condolences may be sent to the family at reedfuneralhome.net.
Doris was born August 25, 1916 in Delavan, Illinois, the daughter of Ira Logan and Grace Lillian Voyles Lee. She had been a nurse aide for the Beals Nursing Home, Sullivan and for the Douglas Rehabilitation Center, Mattoon. Doris attended the Sullivan Church of God and was a member of the Rhoda Rebekah Lodge. She married Ora Monroe Cole in 1936 and he preceded her in death. She then married J. R. McElravy on December 22, 1956 and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughter, Marcella Binder of Sullivan; sons, Kenneth (Donna) Cole of Mesa, Arizona, Daniel Cole and Charles (Bonnie) Cole both of Sullivan; seventeen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and two great greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sisters, Eleanora Arterburn and Pauline Rogers; brothers, Dwayne Lee and Wayne Lee; infant brother, Bernard Lee and a son-in-law, Jim Binder.
